Winged Rider logo & “Muddy Angel” term retired

by | Jun 15, 2025

Mechanicsburg, PA (June 16, 2025) – We hope this message finds you well and that the memories of your time with the National EMS Memorial Bike Ride continue to resonate with meaning and pride.

As we continue to grow and evolve as an organization, we remain committed to honoring the lives and legacies of our fallen EMS colleagues with the utmost respect, clarity, and purpose. In that spirit, we are formally announcing the retirement of the Winged Rider logo and “Muddy Angel” term from all future communications and official materials associated with the National EMS Memorial Bike Ride.

This decision was not made lightly. After thoughtful reflection, discussion with stakeholders, and listening to the voices of our community, we have released a position statement outlining the reasons for this change. The statement reaffirms our responsibility to maintain inclusive, contemporary, and respectful practices in how we recognize and remember those we ride to honor.

We invite you to read the full statement that is attached for your review.

We are grateful for your continued support, dedication, and participation in our shared mission. Together, we will continue to ride with purpose and remember with heart.
