Gary Weiss

Circumstances: Pancreatic Cancer

Gary graduated in 1970 from River Valley High School and enlisted in the US Navy in 1971. He was a Hospital Corpsman on the USS Sarsfield DD837. He was married in 1974 to Rhonda Weiss. Together they raised their 4 children, Misti, Brian, Michael, and Tim, in Plain, WI.

Gary was employed at Edward Kraemer & Sons from 1975 until his health forced him into retirement in 2015. He joined the Plain Fire Department in 1977 and continued till 2014. He also joined the ambulance service at its origination in 1977 and became Chief in 1982. He held that role until 2016 when his health forced him to step aside. He would not let go, he continued to actively serve as an EMT up until his death. He held the title of EMT for 42 years, he made the Plain Ambulance Service what it is today.

Gary is survived by his wife Rhonda Weiss, daughter Misti Hlavacek, son Brian (Alisa) Weiss, son Michael (Kara) Weiss, and son Tim (Katey) Weiss.
Many grand and great-grandchildren.
