Steven Diehl

Steve started in EMS in 1991 and obtained his Paramedic in 1999 and became an EMT instructor. Steve began working for South Elgin Fire District in 2001 until 2022. During his career, Steve was part of the dive/rescue team, Hazmat team and part of the AFFI Honor Guard. Steve also played an instrumental part in certifying the Grand Victoria Riverboat in Elgin as a BLS Non-transport and setting up its EMS system. Despite his diagnosis of ALS, Steve continued to lead fire/EMS training for Linden Vol FD. Steve will be missed by his many friends, co-workers, and family members.
