Steve Atkinson

Steve served with the Sedgwick County Fire Department from 1991 until his retirement as Captain in 2017, dedicating over two decades to protecting his community. He embodied the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment of a true first responder, never hesitating to run toward danger to keep others safe. His legacy of service and leadership will not be forgotten. Outside of his career, he found joy in hunting, shooting, scuba diving, leatherworking, and woodworking. A protector at heart, he served his family and community with quiet strength, integrity, and a deep, enduring sense of responsibility.
