Sara’s legacy of service began in the United States Air Force. She soon transitioned to a position as a driver for an ambulance company. Sara earned her EMT certification in 2014 and began working in 911 EMS the same year. She earned her paramedic certification in 2020.
During her career, she worked as a medic in a hospital Emergency Department, at several private ambulance companies, and at Florence County (SC) Emergency Medical Services. She was known for her dedication to the EMS profession and advocacy for her patients. Sara was tragically killed in the line of duty while caring for a victim of a motor vehicle collision in Florence, South Carolina on August 9, 2022. She was only 32 years old. She loved and was loved by, a devoted fiancé, a wonderful family, a large and close-knit group of friends, and a dedicated work family, all of whom adore her and miss her immensely.
