Marleen was dedicated to making a difference in the lives of others by rendering care to those in need. She was instrumental in the birth and growth of EMS in the state of Kansas beginning in the 1970’s and is responsible for the current EMS development in her hometown community of Kingman, KS. She educated hundreds of people as first responders, EMTs, Paramedics, and RNs at local colleges and universities.

She was a retired Physician Assistant, Registered Nurse and Paramedic with a total of 50 years of experience as a health care professional. Marleen was the first female EMS Director for Kingman County, serving her community for 10 years, and served as board member on the Kansas State Board of EMS. She believed in the value of education and spreading her knowledge to those around her at a local and state level. Marleen was also very involved in her church, enjoyed spending time with her great grandchildren and thrift shopping.
