Charmon Haines Jr.

Tom, a father, husband, veteran, and civic leader, passed away after a brief illness. He served in the US Army in Korea and the US Air Force in French Morocco. After returning to Pamplico, he ran Haines Radio and TV Repair until his death. He founded the Pamplico Rescue Squad and served as its director from 1964 onwards, was Florence County’s Director of Civil Defense, Surplus Procurement Officer for 18 years, Commissioner for Pamplico Volunteer Fire Department, and served on the Pamplico Town Council for over 40 years. He is survived by his wife Alice, children, grandchildren, sister Flossie Zigler, and niece Barbara DeVane.
