National EMS Memorial Service at Hyatt Crystal City, Arlington, VA – July 24, 2021

New for 2021 will be a single-day ride to kick off the “Weekend of Honor” in coordination with The National EMS Memorial Foundation and The National EMS Memorial Service. In past years, the arrival of the East Coast & Southern Route participants to the Weekend of Honor has been a much anticipated and emotional reunion for the families of the honorees. While we are not able to coordinate full week rides with the Weekend of Honor in 2021, we are inviting you to join us for a single-day event on July 23, 2021, in the Washington D.C. area. At the conclusion of this event, our hope is that you will stay and attend The National EMS Memorial Service on July 24, 2021.
Our cycling event will start and end at the Hyatt Crystal City. The route will travel approximately 22 miles, primarily on bike trails, to Herndon, VA where lunch will be provided. Participants will then cycle back to Crystal City, where they will be escorting a special delivery that is an integral part of the Weekend of Honor. Family members of the Honorees have been invited to welcome in the cyclists, where a short ceremony will take place.

Check In Time: 9am-10am
Safety Brief: 10am
Pedals Turning: 10:30am
Lunch Stop: 12:30pm – 2:00pm
Pedals Turning: 2:00pm
Assemble for Final Escort: 4:00pm
Arrive At Hyatt Regency, Presentation of Dog Tags to Families 4:30pm
