Steve started in the fire service as a teenager as a junior firefighter for Brooklawn Fire Department outside of Camden, NJ. He served on Bellmawr Park Volunteer, becoming Chief in his 20’s. He worked as an EMT for University EMS in Newark NJ, and the city of Camden for 17 years, responding to the WTC on 9-11 to aid in rescue efforts. Steve was an EMT instructor, photographed fire scenes, contributing to countless training slides, and videos, and ran a successful fire news website. He moved to Goose Creek, SC to pursue his dream of being a career firefighter. Steve was an avid fire photographer, enjoyed bike riding, visiting the beach, and spending time with his family. His family remembers him as an unselfish and devoted husband and father. Steve was known for his sense of humor, strength, and commitment.
